RE: INTERNS

matthew-haag-eats-chocolate-001.jpgD intern extraordinaire Stephanie Dauwe responds to the playa-hatas:

Wow, all this attention is making me blush. I find it amusing that posting a picture of the interns at D has caused more of an uproar than the more-controversial posts on FrontBurner. If the DMN claims to have such great diversity, I’d like to see a photo of their intern staff. Judging by Internal Affairs, it sounds to me like they’re just a bunch of boys looking to give the women at D a hard time. The fact is, had that picture not been posted, not a soul outside the walls of D Magazine would have a clue that this summer’s interns just happen to be a team of exceptionally lovely young women. What would really blow them away is if we posted a picture of the staff. I guess beauty just runs in the family. As for the softball game, I’d be happy to set a date for some friendly competition. Or something like that.

Guys (I’m talking to people like you, DMN intern Matthew Haag, pictured above, eating chocolate), I’ve been in this business a long time, and I know something about media rivalries in this town. So listen to me when I say: giddyup.
