GINGER ALLEN IS ON FIRE

|

By now you know about the Dell laptop battery recall. But did you know that our good, strong media partners at Channel 11 are responsible for it? Reporter Ginger Allen broke the story, as far as I can tell.

Yes, the NYT did a story on possible dangers of lithium ion batteries back in 2001. But Allen, as far as I can tell, was the first of the mainstream media in the U.S. to report this current story, on May 23. Consumeraffair.com had a story on its website August 3. The Daily Telegraph in London reported a computer fire on August 5. But Allen’s August 10 update seems to be the impetus for the recall.

For her sake, I hope this is a contract year for Allen.
