HOSPITAL CHANGES, CONT.

|

An alert FBvian wondered about a change at UT Southwestern’s anesthesiology department. Officials at UT Southwestern Medical Center confirm:

Dr. William Johnston, chair of the department of anesthesiology and pain management since November 2001, stepped down from his administrative role in June 2006 and remains a professor in the department where he will continue his important teaching and patient care roles. Until a search committee finds his replacement, the department is being managed by a team of senior faculty anesthesiologists under the supervision of Dr. John McConnell, executive vice president for health system affairs, who also will serve as interim chairman.
