Whole Foods has stopped selling live lobsters. Says Bruce Friedrich, a spokesman for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals:

“The ways that lobsters are treated would warrant felony cruelty to animals charges if they were dogs or cats.”

Um, what? And the ways that lobsters are treated would warrant murder charges if they were people. But they’re not.
