TOM DELAY GETS DALLAS LAWYERS’ MONEY

|

Tom DeLay raised great gobs of money right up until he was indicted for, among other things, illegally raising great gobs of money. An interesting story, this. The Times says two of DeLay’s donors were Dallas law firms. Winstead, Sechrest & Minick have given more than $125,000 since July 1 and Locke, Liddell & Sapp, which used to employ Harriet Miers, gave $10,000.

The Times is amazed and maybe even indignant about the whole deal, playing it up until the last paragraph when it mentions, ahem, that other politcos in trouble for similar shenanigans have also had no problem with fundraising.
