PROPS FOR BELO

|

A NOLA-watching FrontBurnervian shares his thoughts about Belo station
WWL-TV
:

You know, we talk a lot about how badly the DMN bodgers things and how Belo generally sucks. But their folks at WWL-TV in New Orleans — Baton Rouge, now — are showing some real mettle with their continuous broadcasting about the effects of Katrina and what is going on in NOLA generally. It’s a Pulitzer-type effort. For those of us with family down there, WWL’s streaming video on the web has been a real asset, and Belo deserves a lot of credit for throwing some serious IT assets and bandwidth up to make sure that thousands of us can stream that video without a hitch. If we’re going to rap them on the downside, we’ve gotta give them props when they do the right thing too. Kudos, Belo, and thanks.

Props delivered.
