An alert FrontBurnervian points us to this The New Yorker story about Kinky Friedman. It features a couple of scenes in Fort Worth and Dallas. And a guy from Dallas named Dennis Rainwater shows up in the story. Likely he’s the Rainwater who’s involved with the Cathedral of Hope, for what that’s worth. Anyway, you’ll recall that Brian used to edit Kinky at Texas Monthly, then pissed him off in this space, then quit D to go work for Texas Monthly again. If Brian hadn’t stopped talking to us, we could ask him what he thinks of the story.
