SWEETWATER MAKES IT TO THE BIG-TIME

|

Here is a tidbit in The Sweetwater Reporter about an upcoming WFAA story that was shot in the area.

John Pronk, a reporter for the television station, was in Sweetwater last week to investigate the progress of the search for the size and owner of the largest tree.

Featured in the story will be the local search committee, Franzas Cupp, LeStella Morris, and Tom Henderson as well as Mike and Drew Sells, son and grandson of one of the contending tree’s owner’s, Mr. and Mrs. L.R. Sells.

The story will show how the trees are being measured and rated, several of the larger trees and their locations, as well as some insight into the motivation of the organizers.

It will be shown on Monday, Aug. 22, on Cox channel 8 at 5 p.m.

I’m not going to make fun of the Sweetwater Reporter for this “news” item. And I’m not going to call out John Pronk and the rest of WFAA for such investigative journalism. To be honest, I think it sounds like a pretty good story. Tivo = set.
