GOOD PR

|

Huh? Sorry for the oxymoron, but sometimes PR professionals do their job correctly. I won’t name names, but Amity Thomas, from Martha Tiller Company, sends this update on the extravagant Taste of the Nation event that takes place on Thursday. Be there or be square.

After 5pm on Wednesday, tickets for Taste of the Nation will be available at the door. Beneficiaries are The North Texas Food Bank and The Wilkinson Center.

More than 20 of Dallas’ finest chefs from the cities award-winning restaurants, join forces in the largest nationwide benefit to fight hunger. The 2005 Dallas Taste of the Nation is being held on Thursday, August 11 (7-10pm) at The Great Hall of the Apparel Mart.
Noted chef David Holben of Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House takes over the reigns as Host Chef of the popular 2005 event, a role founded by celebrity chef Stephan Pyles, who will act as Honorary Chair.
Considered the ‘classic’ of culinary grazing affairs, Taste of the Nation has revamped the popular format offering tastings from Dallas’ favorite locales including Chaparral, Dakota’s, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House, Doughmonkey, Dragonfly at Hotel Zaza, George, The Green Room, Hector’s on Henderson, Il Mulino New York, Jeroboam, La Duni Latin Café, The Landmark at The Melrose Hotel, The Mozzarella Company, Empire Bakery, Nikita, The Oceanaire Seafood Room, Sambuca Uptown, Standard, Suze, Tramontana and Tutto.
This year’s event adds a stylish element with chic-cool fashions from West Village. Proprietor Ort Varona of the fashion forward Premium 93 and Octane along with noted supermodel Jan Strimple have produced a sleek production featuring ensembles from both venues.
Share Our Strength’s Taste of the Nation is to be held Thursday, August 11 in The Great hall of the Apparel Mart, 2300 Stemmons Freeway. VIP tickets (which include an exclusive reception 6:00-7:00pm) are $125; regular admission tickets purchased prior to the event are $50; and tickets purchased at the door $50.
