Regarding DART Security, I believe that with Osama bin Laden’s stated goal of crippling the US and other western nations’ economies, Dallas transit would have little or no worry of being the target of a terrorist attack. If bombs blow up the Dart rail and a couple of buses, it would have only a minimal effect on the local economy. In contrast, the disruption of train transit and subways in London has a huge economic impact…in addition to creating fear, confusion, and, well, terror.
Houston’s terrorist targets of valid concern are the Ship Channel chemical industries, but Dallasites should be worried more about an attack on the Cowboys or Mary Kay Cosmetics.
