HICO REPORT, PART II

|

On May 20th I judged a steak cook-off competition in Hico, Texas and reported the winners of the celebrity competition but I didn’t stay long enough to find out who won the amateur division. Well, now I know. A Mr. Bart Thompson enlightens us:

I read on FB regarding the Hico Steak Cook-Off that you had passed out from the heat as we all almost did. Well, I write to tell you that it was a team from Dallas called “Leggo My Angus.” I know this because I was a proud member of that team. As a rookie team we competed against the best traveling cook teams in the state. Strangely enough, our team consists of an Internet executive, a stock broker, two commercial real estate agents, and an attorney, all from Big D. We walked away with $3,000 and big sterling “Steak Cook Off Champion” belt buckles for all of the “Leggo my Angus” team.

Back to you, Timmy.
