BEST REALTORS RECAP

I’m sure you’re waiting with bated breath for a recap of last night’s party celebrating D‘s Best Realtors–assuming, of course, you knew there was a party last night. And what a party it was. Off the hook, as the kids might say. Il Mulino has some darn good food, as it turns out. And wine was a’flowin’. The place was packed with brokers talking about business and then talking about how they didn’t want to talk about business but then going back to talking about business. Before everyone went to the second half of the party at The Terrace’s Discovery Center, Tim made some remarks and more than a couple of jokes that fell flat. (When he said, “Realtors are the toughest professional group to work with,” the ensuing murmurs drowned out his qualification “in a good way.” Workshop.) I also witnessed a marvelous move that I’m going to try to incorporate into my gesture repertoire. After thanking a couple of Realtors for coming to the party, being good Realtors, and, pretty much, for everything they do, Tim was going to bid them adieu. Alas, he could not shake the hand of a Realtor whose arms were laden with free copies of the magazine and wine. So Tim did the prayer goodbye: palms together, bend at the waist. And Tim was not subtle with it. Genius.
