ERIN BROCKOVICH SETS HER SIGHTS ON MIDLOTHIAN

|

Comes news this morning that Brockovich is looking into Midlothian’s cement plants. She’ll likely attend a town hall meeting there in June. Brockovich heard about Midlothian from a friend of hers who lives there. My understanding is that our story was passed along to Brockovich by that friend.

I can tell you, though, that some of the people in Midlothian are not entirely pleased about Brockovich’s potential involvement. They feel she’s simply being used as a recruiting tool by the local firm McCurdy & McCurdy to sign folks up for a class-action suit. They also worry that Brockovich’s involvement will turn the whole thing into a circus, making real progress and pollution reform that much harder to achieve.
