Last year’s Chefs For Farmers went virtual, for obvious reasons, but it’s back to its in-real-life format. And the Dallas food and wine event is going big—huge, really—for its 10th anniversary.
You’ll recognize many of the big-name chefs participating in this year’s festival: Bruno Davaillon, John Tesar, Eric Dreyer of Monarch Restaurants, Meridian’s Junior Borges, Misti Norris of Petra and the Beast, Top Chef alum and Dallas native Casey Thompson of Folktable in Sonoma, and Ji Kang from Sloane’s Corner. Plenty of pitmaster pros are likewise in the mix this year, like Meat Church’s Matt Pitman, Arnulfo Sanchez of Vaqueros Texas Bar-B-Q, and Bruce Kalman (another Top Chef-er) of Soulbelly BBQ, which just opened in Las Vegas this year.

The Farm Tour

CFF has partnered with The Seed Project Foundation, a McKinney-based organization funding educational, agricultural, and community initiatives for sustainable practices, for a fall farm tour. Make stops at McKinney Roots for sips and bites by chef Andrew Shackelford of Harvest Seasonal Kitchen. Then head to Lucas, where Profound Microfarm’s Joel Orsini will no doubt have something fun to snack on. The last stop is Water Boy Farms and Apiary, another Lucas farm, with Girl Flour’s Erika Radtke. Tickets are $125.
DEVOUR Street Food Festival at The Exchange

New to CFF’s usual programming comes a street food-style festival where snacky bites abound. A ticket purchase include unlimited food samples from more than 13 restaurants (Eataly Dallas, Rise + Thyme, Monkey King Noodle, Ichi Ni San, and many more). What’s a good snack without a drink with which to wash them down? Beverage stations will be parked throughout the food hall and downtown plaza. A live DJ will keep the vibe immaculate. And you can even get in on some complimentary salsa dance lessons (pro-tip: have a couple cocktails to loosen up the hips). Tickets are $85.
The Main Event: The 10th Annual Chefs For Farmers
Nov. 7, 3 to 6 p.m. (2 p.m. entry for VIPs) | Dallas Heritage Village, 1515 S. Harwood St.
The weekend’s grand finale will go down on Sunday, when the best of the best—bites, breweries, wineries, distilleries, chefs, local farms—will take over Heritage Village. Stroll through the park and make pitstops at the Rosé Garden, Tailgate Par-TAY, and the Go Texan Area. VIP guests can sit back and relax (a nice respite from wolfing down all-you-eat fare) at The Retreat, where there will be luxury cocktails and exclusive bites from our out-of-town chefs.
