National Tequila Day is this Saturday, July 24—but, really, it’s any day you’re sipping an añejo with a friend, am I right? Anyway, for the actual “holiday,” there’s plenty going on around town. Peep these Saturday events at which you can delve deeper into the world of agave spirits.
9 p.m.–1 a.m. One of the foremost agave spirit nerds in town is celebrating their four-year anniversary by serving all manners of tequila, mezcal, and sotol. So this Saturday is a one-two punch of revelry: live DJ, drink specials, and the debut of Las Almas’ mobile mezcaleria trailer (!).
5 p.m. till midnight Land at this bar tucked inside Houndstooth Coffee on Sylvan Avenue for tequila, tamales, and cocktails with a Japanese twist.
5–8 p.m. This tequila tasting will explore—via sips of tequila—local selections from distilleries across Texas, like Insolito Tequila, Republic Tequila, Pepe Z Tequila, Socorro Tequila, and Veneno Tequila.
