I first fell in love with Doctor Kracker garlic Parmesan crisps at Jason’s Deli on Mockingbird. They have individually wrapped packages sitting out with their salad bar and they make for a perfect little dipper for the hummus and other accoutrements. I had no idea they were locally made until I saw a large package for sale at Central Market.

Doctor Kracker was founded in Dallas in 2003 by a group of European and American bakers. After several years of business, the company opened a larger bakery in Plano, which is where they currently produce all of their products.

All Doctor Kracker crispbreads, flatbreads, and snacks are made with organically grown whole seeds and whole grains along with plant-based protein, fiber, and essential micronutrients. None of their products contain sugar or trans fats. Not only is the food products good for you but the baking process and packaging are both eco-friendly. The Plano bakery uses a new type of technology that recycles the heat from the ovens and directs it towards other uses for their products. This process also eliminates any pollution that would be released into the air.

Their crispbreads are my favorite. They pair perfectly with chicken salad, hummus or any other dip. It’s a pretty guiltless way to eat carbs. The company has grown so much in the past 12 years that you can find their products at almost any large retail store in the United States. To see a full list of store and to find out more about Doctor Kracker products visit their website.
