DallasChocolate.org to Host Talk on Origins of Chocolate at Chocolate Secrets

Kelsey Timmerman, the author of Where Am I Eating? An Adventure Through the Global Food Economy, will be at Chocolate Secrets at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 18 to talk on origins of chocolate.

DallasChocolate.org, run by Sander “The Sanderman” Wolf,  is hosting an interesting event.  Kelsey Timmerman, the author of Where Am I Wearing? A Global Tour to the Countries, Factories, and People That Make Our Clothes and more recently, Where Am I Eating? An Adventure Through the Global Food Economy, will be at Chocolate Secrets at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 18. The subject of his talk? Good chocolate versus bad chocolate. Timmerman interviewed workers at cacao plantations in the Ivory Coast that weren’t allowed to leave their jobs. He has traveled the world working on farms and teaching baseball in remote regions. Troy Easton, the bean-to-bar chocolatier at Sublime Chocolates will be there and there will be wine and chocolate available for purchase. the event is free, but you’ve got to reserve a seat.
