Food Truck Highlight of the Week: Ruthie’s Grilled Cheese

Ruthie’s Grilled Cheese started out as a side project of In Any Event, an event planning company run by Ashlee Kleinert.  Food trucks were growing in Los Angeles and Austin and it seemed like a great complement to the existing business.  Ashlee named the business for her Grandmother Ruth for the fond memories of grilled cheese sandwiches at grandma’s house.  Ruthie’s Grilled Cheese’s first rolled in August 2011 at the first Dallas food truck festival at Sigel’s.  A year later, Ruthie’s launched a cheesesteak truck, which they have now converted into their second grilled cheese truck.  Ruthie’s Creperie began rolling a few months later.

For those of you thinking about private events, with their event planning background, Ruthie’s is one of the better managed food trucks in Dallas.

Ruthie’s also has a terrific philanthropic background.  Each month, they pick out a Dallas-based charity and donate a percentage of profits to the charity.

Here’s the schedule for the week.  Always check Facebook or Twitter feeds.[table “67” not found /]
