How time flies. Wasn’t it January 1 just yesterday? I can’t believe it’s the eleventh already. On that note, happy birthday, Matthew Shelley! He’s turning the big 3-0 today. This morning, I asked Matt if he felt any of his joints creaking, but he said he never felt better. Psh.

It’s live music on the patio at PhD Pour House in Oak Cliff tonight from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Saturday
Raindrop Turkish House is hosting a fun, family friendly event called “Noah’s Pudding,” a food and craft fair from noon to 7 p.m. Eat a variety of Turkish dishes, like dolma, kofte, borek, and baklava. There’ll be water marbling art, Turkish tea and coffee, and popcorn and cotton candy for kids. Admission is free and open to the public.
The cool dudes over at House of Plates are throwing a food/fashion/music bash with Warby Parker from 7 to 10 p.m. at The Old Bike Shop (1740 Empire Central). “The Outsiders Inn” will be a party of denim, letterman, and leather jackets that are welcome, but not required. Free drinks and local fare provided by Bolsa.
Sunday
Don’t forget: there’s free chicken pot pie and a visual presentation of the new George W. Bush Presidential Library at Highland Park Cafeteria. The event starts at 5 p.m., and it’s free.
Dallas’ finest lady cocktail makers will be featured at Shake for Second Base, a fundraiser for breast cancer research at Sissy’s from 6 to 10 p.m. Organizer Trish Nishimura of Cedars Social and The Establishment writes, “For a mere $10 at the door people can expect some of Dallas’ best fried chicken and a cocktail, each subsequent cocktail will be $7 and ALL proceeds from the event will be donated directly to a breast cancer research fund. There will also be a live auction at the event that allows the general public the opportunity to bid on an hour-long cocktail date from some of their favorite barmen and ladies around the city, with opening bids starting at $50.”
