Gaedeke’s 327,856-square-foot, 14-story project will be the first multitenant office building within the $2 billion Legacy West, a 240-acre mixed-use development surrounding JC Penney’s corporate headquarters. Master developers of Legacy West are The Karahan Cos., KDC and Columbus Realty Partners.

Gaedeke Group will break ground this summer, with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter 2016. The company’s site is directly across from Toyota’s $350 million headquarters, adjacent to FedEx Office’s headquarters, and within walking distance of Liberty Mutual Insurance Co.’s recently announced regional headquarters site.

The Greater Legacy area, encompassing 2,665 acres, is a highly regarded economic center, boasting 14 Fortune 1000 corporations, each with more than 1,000 employees.

“The diversity of the Legacy area gives us a unique opportunity to design and develop a concept that will compete on national and international platforms,” said Sabine Gaedeke Stener, CEO of the Dallas-based investment firm. “Our benchmark was to create a high-quality office environment that’s not only efficient and functional, but one that energizes and inspires.”

One Legacy West was designed LEED Gold by Morrison Dilworth + Walls of Dallas. Austin Commercial will be the general contractor, Andres Construction will handle construction management, and Belle Firma is the landscape architect.
