Listen to the New Drake Song That’s Crawling up the Shazam Dallas Top 20

"Hold On, We're Going Home" is a velvety, radio ready nostalgia track -- minimal, but engrossing, with a beat built for a night drive and synths that wash over the track like city lights on a windshield.

Thanks to the music service Shazam, D Magazine‘s FrontRow will bring you the exclusive Shazam Top Twenty for Dallas each week. To look back at the series, go here.

Some shifting of the deck chairs in this week’s local top 20, but in general, this month’s charts are all about Lorde, Jay Z, T.I., Drake and the rest. The big addition to the top ten is Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home,” which was number 2 on last week’s U.S. new releases chart and this week jumps to number one on the same chart. Katy Perry’s “Roar,” which was number one on last week’s new releases, hasn’t had the same resonance for local listeners. It sits down at number 16 on this week’s local top 20.

I’m a sucker for Drake, and this song maybe be my favorite in the top 10 currently. It’s a velvety, radio ready nostalgia track — minimal, but engrossing, with a beat built for a night drive and synths that wash over the track like city lights on a windshield. Have a listen:
