So last night I’m wrapping up dinner with the family (note to My Fair Lady: the curry chicken was excellent) when the phone rings. It’s Nancy. I think this is the only time she has ever called my house.
NANCY: “Hey, I was driving through your neighborhood and wondered if you wanted to pop out for a quickie.”
ME: [figuring she’s joking, but on the slim chance she isn’t, not wanting to close the door on the opportunity] “Hey.”
NANCY: “I’m kidding. Listen, you know who Sinbad is?”
ME: “The comedian? Sure.”
NANCY: “He’s in town and he just called me. He’s looking for a good blues club. You know of any?”
