MARK CUBAN “JUST ANOTHER OWNER”

|

I can’t take it anymore. All along I’ve been a huge Mark Cuban supporter. I loved his marketing innovations, his fearless chastising of NBA referees, his highly readable blog, his candor with the media. But then there’s this whole Steve Nash thing.

Steve Nash came to Dallas and wiped the floor with us. Total, utter domination, the likes of which you rarely see in the NBA anymore. And instead of admitting he made a mistake–which everyone on the planet knows he did–Cuban says time after time that, “If I had to do it all over again, I would do the same thing.” What? Are you kidding me? You would give away a league MVP who is the classiest, most likable personality in the game? Cubes, you’ve lost it, dude.

Here’s the deal: if your team regroups and your guards lead the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals next year, I’ll be man enough to say I was wrong. But if you can’t admit you made a mistake, then you become just like all those other dim-witted egomaniac owners we shake our heads at–proud to the point of pity.
