THUMBS DOWN NOT IN THEIR FRONT YARD

|

THUMBS DOWN to the MCSHANN ROAD NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATION for its opposition to a proposed group home for mentally retarded children to be located on the North Dallas street. Spokesmen for the homeowners, mostly affluent black professionals, blamed “racism” for the MHMR board’s decision, despite the fact that the committee that selected the site was made up of two blacks and one white. Such narrow thinking must not prevent humane efforts to help the least fortunate.
