Stars, Yikes. The 4-0 beatdown puts the Stars on the brink of elimination, down 3-0 to the Las Vegas Knights for a shot to make the Stanley Cup Finals. Jamie Benn made critical mistakes, the fans tossed trash on the ice, and Dallas appears doomed. Here’s the take from Sean Shapiro and David Castillo on StrongSide.

Dallas Is Adding Parks. The Trust For Public Land is a nonprofit that, among many other things, ranks cities based on how many of their residents have a park located within a 10-minute walk. Dallas jumped 10 spots this year, Sharon Grigsby reports, largely because of the investment of the city’s parks department and nonprofits like the TPL. We’re now No. 43, coming for Austin’s 41. Plano remains the best city in Texas for parks, ranking 16th in the nation. (Are you big into parks? Curious about the Trust for Public Land? I have a column in the June issue that will interest you. Subscribe here, you’ll love it.)

It’s Been One Year Since Uvalde. And the Texas Legislature has done little to prevent another from occurring, despite being in session. Skip Hollandsworth has a sensitive and devastating profile in Texas Monthly of Kimberly Mata-Rubio, a mother of one of the slain students at Robb Elementary. The piece follows her grief and actions over the past year, and it’s well worth your time.
