Mocktails are always in season, and lucky for us, there are plenty of Dallas bars and restaurants offering alcohol-free drinks that look and taste delicious. No offense to ginger ale on ice, but it’s just not as flavorful as a drink that’s been embellished and considered in the same way the booze side of the menu is.
Here are some places to find a spirit-free drink for those who are practicing sobriety or starting up a new resolution in the new year.
Legacy Hall
Four bars at the Legacy Hall—Bar Main, Good View Bar, High Bar, and Tonic Bar & Lounge—all offer a menu of spirit-free cocktails all year round. This year there are two new mocktails: Tropical Dreams, a watermelon and pineapple-based drink with syrup, lime, mint, and decorated with edible flowers, and the Botanical Garden, made with tamarind juice, cinnamon syrup, lime, basil, and topped with ginger beer and a lemon wheel. 7800 Windrose Ave, Plano.

The drink menu includes five specialty mocktails, including a mimosa that uses sparkling cider, and a non-alcoholic mai tai. There’s also a list of nine of Lyle’s fake spirits, which include alternatives for scotch, bourbon, tequila, and Kahlua. 718 N. Buckner Blvd., Ste. 100.
XOXO Dining Room
This trendy hotspot has five non-alcoholic cocktails on its drink menu, including the ever-popular espresso martini (called the XO Espresso on the menu), which is made of cold brew, agave, milk, and cinnamon sugar. The Lil’ Papi is a zero-proof spin on a spicy margarita—it’s a mix of citrus, orange juice, jalapeños, pineapple, and agave. 3121 Ross Ave.
Double D’s
The newest bar in town has a non-alcoholic menu that spans four fruity sodas and three mocktails. It’s not clear what each mocktail is made of, but Double D’s says they’re zero-proof and 100 percent made with love. 1404 N. Riverfront Blvd.
Community Beer Co.
Craving a refreshing beer without the boozy results? Community Beer Co. has Nada, its non-alcoholic IPA made with mosaic, sabro, and simcoe hops. All the great parts of a beer and no impending hangover. 3110 Commonwealth Dr.
Paradiso
In Bishop Arts, Paradiso serves two yummy mocktails: the Silent Dove, made with grapefruit juice, lime, soda, and syrup, and the Flight of the Bees, a sweet mix of honey lemon and ginger beer. 308 N. Bishop Ave.
Monarch
Sip on some mocktails while overlooking downtown Dallas at Monarch. They’ve got the Hey Ginger, a mocktail infused with Lyre’s amaretti and ginger beer in a coupe glass, and the Icy Road, a non-alcoholic mixture of verjus blanc, lychee water, violet syrup, and ginger ale on rosemary and hibiscus ice.1401 Elm St., 49th Floor.
