Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins reported 1,696 new COVID-19 cases and six deaths on Monday.

North Texas hospitals have 3,425 patients with COVID-19, which is down 208 from Friday, representing 24.1 percent of available bed capacity. COVID-19 patients account for 44.2 percent of adult ICU patients, reports DFW Hospital Council CEO and President Steve Love.

Texas health experts say COVID-19 vaccines are less effective for people with weakened immune systems, the Dallas Morning News reports. For people older than 65 and immunocompromised, the vaccine offers less protection than it does for younger people. Find out more about the study here.

With full approval from the FDA, Moderna vaccine is now officially recognized, NBC DFW reports. Johnson & Johnson hasn’t applied for full approval of its Covid-19 vaccine. Read more here.
