Hispanic residents in Texas are bearing the brunt of the pandemic, and are catching the virus at a disproportionate rate while also suffering worse outcomes. Hispanic residents make up 40 percent of the state’s population but 48 percent of its coronavirus patients, The Texas Tribune reports.

The Dallas Morning News interviewed UT Southwestern’s Dr. Madhukar Trivedi who shared eight ways to combat the mental health effects of COVID-19, which include good sleep, virtual memorializations, and supporting seniors.
