Medical City Arlington Opens A Level 3 NICU

|

Medical City Arlington will undergo the delicate task of transferring some of its most vulnerable patients to a new unit this week. The 382-bed hospital has officially opened the doors to a new neonatal intensive care unit.

The NICU has received a level III designation from the state. It has 36 beds and 15 private rooms for families. It also has a couple overnight rooms, private family lounge, secluded work spaces, and provides a 24/7 live stream.

It’s Medical City Arlington’s second phase of an expansion to its Women’s Hospital, which should be all done by spring 2019. Phase one was the re-opening of the OB emergency department and front lobby. In all, the project costs $60 million.
