Ed Heffernan

Ed Heffernan has been appointed the role of chairman of the board of directors of Children’s Health System of Texas (Children’s HealthSM). His leadership and commitment to making life better for children began years ago. Ed served on the board of directors of Children’s Medical Center Dallas beginning in 2012 before joining the larger system’s board of directors in 2014. He has also served as the chair of the system’s finance committee since 2013.

Heffernan is the president and chief executive officer of Alliance Data, a Plano-based business providing loyalty and marketing services to the Fortune 1000. He is also a member of the board and long-range planning committee of the Shelton School, a Dallas private school for children with learning differences. He supports the Plano Independent School District (PISD) Foundation in the North Texas area, and is a member of the PISD CEO Council. Additionally, Ed serves as a trustee for campus affairs at Wesleyan University and is a member of the Board of Overseers for Columbia Business School. Ed is married with two children.
