Shine Hot Pilates
The reformer-free, Tracy Anderson-inspired Pilates studio has been hosting pop-ups since this summer, giving Dallas a taste of its heated sculpting and rhythmic moves. “It’s a bit looser and allows you to just be a little wild for about an hour,” says Whitney Stern, who co-founded Shine with her friend Rachel Pierce. The two former instructors spent time in Los Angeles, New York, and Las Vegas studying fitness trends to craft their Dallas dream studio, which opens in The Hill Shopping Center this weekend.

Pilates by Nature
Another Pilates studio opening this weekend combines reformers with TRX bands in Uptown. The name (which one of my co-workers believes to be a nod to the Grammy Award-winning trio Naughty by Nature) is well represented in the studio’s greenery and natural decor elements. Kombucha and nitro brew are always complimentary, and your first Pilates by Nature class is on the house.
Class Studios Preston Center
We touched down on Class Studio’s expansion last week, but for a quick refresher: the new Preston Center space introduces three new concepts. There’s a sculpting option, a HIIT class with treadmills, and “Lab,” where local instructors will be able to experiment with class formats.

CYL Sauna Studio
I didn’t know Dallas needed a luxury infrared sauna studio, mainly because I didn’t know luxury infrared sauna studios existed. But they do, and thankfully, after making its way to Austin last summer, CYL Sauna Studio (which also has locations in Nashville, Memphis, and Boulder) just landed on Greenville Avenue. Essentially, you’ll sit in your own sweat pod (alone or in tandem with a friend) for 30 minutes of infrared heat, which offers all the benefits of sunbathing without the dangerous effects. Bring headphones!
