Nature and Sophistication Merge in This Gorgeous Glassware

|

Jewelry designer Ted Muehling’s new creations for Lobmeyr glassworks of Vienna whimsically depict bugs, butterflies, goldfish, flies, eyes, and other unusual motifs inspired by Biedermeier design and other historic periods. The flourishes of an insect’s flight path, especially vivid on the decanter, are actually monograms so large they become abstract. Designs are painted enamel and copper wheel engravings by artisans working in centuries-old traditions. Grange Hall. 4445 Travis St., Ste. 101. 214-443-0600.
