The buyers at Central Market are expecting their order of 330,000 pounds of Hatch chile peppers to arrive soon. That’s good news for those of you who flock to the store to buy not just freshly roasted peppers, but the hundreds of foods and products that will line the shelves during Central Market’s 22nd Annual Hatch Chile Festival, August 9-22, at all CM locations. During that time, the large roasters will be turning over a fire in front of the store, while inside there will be tastings.

Check out the cooking school schedule. They are featuring classes designed to enlighten you on preparing everyday food with Hatch chiles. Don’t leave without a few packages of the chicken sausage with chiles (pictured above). They freeze well and are magical when cooked on a cold winter’s night.
