Mike Bacsik Charged With Assault. Cops say the onetime Rangers pitcher and current radio host shoved a guy at a youth baseball game and took a swing at him (and missed). Bacsik, you might recall, gave up Barry Bonds’ 756th home run in 2007 and was fired from The Ticket in 2010 for tweeting “Congrats to all the dirty mexicans in San Antonio” after the Mavs lost to the Spurs.

More Jerks Cut Down More Trees Without City Approval. Recently a developer slaughtered 100 live oaks along Forest Lane, in northwest Dallas, and people rightfully got their dander up. Now another developer has toppled some 70 protected trees in the Red Bird area. Of course, the city has allowed this sort of tree razing on public land, so it’s hard to imagine that these developers will pay for their misdeeds.

Plano Cop Kills Gunman at Gas Station. Details are still a bit sketchy as to what went down yesterday at a QT on Preston. But it looks like a veteran cop did her job, and a bad guy lost his life. One poor guy witnessed the shooting and tweeted video of its aftermath
