There’s a new addition to downtown Dallas’ dining scene that will add a little spice to your palate. Former Parkland Memorial Hospital dietician, Navin Hariprasad, made the decision to open a restaurant after answering numerous questions from patients about ways to make food with dietary restrictions more appetizing. Hariprasad says he wanted to take over the commercial kitchen and bring his vision to life. He wants to demonstrate how spices can be beneficial to health.

Spice In The City’s menu features a blend of Indian fare with Pakistani and Malaysian influences. Options include chicken tikka masala, chicken curry, dahl, naan, and pulao.

Spice In The City had its soft opening on Monday, February 16, and has been quietly plating up dishes from their menu since. They will eventually offer custom meal plans that can be ordered in-person, online or by phone. The grand opening is set for Monday, April 6.

Spice In The City is located at 1512 Commerce Street, Suite #101 and is open from Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. for dinner. They offer to-go ordering, corporate catering, cooking classes and other events.
