I’m sure you know more about the politics of Proof + Pantry than you do about the food. Co-owners Michael Martensen and Sal Jafar II are the proprietors who exercised their right to express their feelings about what they consider to be a flawed star-rating system in place at the Dallas Morning News. They aren’t alone, but they, along with Shannon Wynne (Meddlesome Moth, Lark in the Park, Bird Café), have been the most vocal. Their battle with the DMN food critic was certainly one of the biggest stories out of the Dallas food community this year.
