Food Truck Highlight of the Week: The Butcher’s Son

The Butcher’s Son rolled into town in October 2011, the product of Two Trucks, LLC, created by Dain Pool and Jon Wagner.   Both founders have restaurant experience in their blood with Dain the son of the founder of Pool’s Restaurant Group in Atlanta and Jon the son of Johnsonville Sausage owner Ralph Stayer.  The Butcher’s Son menu includes sandwiches, quesadillas, and sliders.  According to Dain Pool, The Butcher’s Son will be upgrading their menu at the beginning of the year (February time frame), adding new proteins, including bison, pork belly, and sweet potato bacon tots.  Their mainstays, including the Mac’n’Beefy slider and Dead Elvis slider, will remain.  The Butcher’s Son has 2 food trucks, with a 3rd rolling in early 2014.  You’ll almost always find them at Klyde Warren Park and often at the Truck Yard.  If you are new to The Butcher’s Son, you can start with fan favorite Mac’n’Beefy, or my favorite Braised Beef Quesadilla.

This week, look for Tuesday at The Village Apartments and Wednesday at Sigel’s/Greenville.

Here’s the full schedule for the week.  Always check Facebook or Twitter feeds before rolling out.[table “68” not found /]
