I just received my very first set of Dallas Heroes Trading Cards. There are 25 different cards total, and they range from Juanita Craft and Ned Fritz to Al Lipscomb and Barefoot Sanders. The cards are being dispersed around the city, courtesy of bcWorkshop, a nonprofit design center.

This is just the first round of cards. The next round will be heroes that are submitted here.

A couple comments from coworkers as I showed them the cards.

1. A deskmate was the one to point out who created the cards. This is such a bcWorkshop-thing to do. (And, by that, I mean, “Dangit, why didn’t I think of it”?)

2. Another coworker says this is the geekiest set of trading cards ever created. I disagree, which means either I’m a huge geek or he’s wrong.

3. Another coworker is wondering which cards are limited quantity. He figured Stanley Marcus would be a pretty coveted card. Unfortunately, Mr. Marcus didn’t make this first round.
