Good story in the DMN‘s biz section today about too many high-end hotels competing for too few customers. Adam and I were talking about this yesterday with a highly placed real estate source who says a big announcement of yet another such hotel (this one in or near Victory Park) is scheduled to be made in two weeks. This dovetailed into a diatribe by said source about how the city needs to get a medium-priced hotel next to the Convention Center pronto (think Marriott) or risk losing even more convention business. Couldn’t know less about the issue, couldn’t agree more.
