Remember that little tiff Paul and I had when Austin passed the Castle Doctrine, designed to give people better legal standing when they use deadly force to defend themselves in their homes, vehicles, and workplaces? Here’s a little update.

On Sunday, State Rep. Borris Miles, D-Houston, one of the few to oppose the Castle Doctrine, pulled a gun and shot a man who was trying to steal copper wiring from a construction site. Here’s the kicker — because the new law doesn’t go into effect until September, Miles could be civilly liable. Full story with hypocritical goodness here.
