A&M AND UT RANK HIGH

Reflecting the disgust and frustration of many academics with the USNews college rankings, Washington Monthly decided to do its own, based more on what students achieve. Texas A&M and UT come in 5th and 17th, respectively, in the national ranking–ahead of such respected schools as Duke, Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, Brown, Dartmouth, and Columbia. SMU, unfortunatley, came in at 176th. Here’s an explanation of the methodology.
