AN UPDATE ON A DALLAS SURVIVOR AND A COOL TREND STORY

|

In case you’re wondering, Penny Ramsey Otwell, a resident of Plano and a contestant on Survivor–what, three years ago–is now a sales rep for the pharmaceutical company Wyeth, and, more importantly, part of a growing number of pharmaceutical reps who are former college cheerleaders. (Penny cheered at Maryland.)

Apparently, drug companies don’t care what you majored in. If you cheered, chances are you’re pretty, chances are you can exaggerate a smile and, therefore, chances are you can sell you some scrips. Demand for the exuberant and attractive is so high, a Memphis company, Spirited Sales Leaders, keeps a database for drug companies of thousands of former or current cheerleaders.

Penny says a hard part of her job is dealing with randy doctors.
