By the way, I was the chosen one to give a “Thank You for Coming” speech to D‘s top dentists (as voted by their peers) at last night’s party. The well-attended celebration was at Roy’s, where the kobe beef-wrapped asparagus were yummy. For the record, I forgot to introduce myself, so here goes: “Hi. I’m D Magazine Senior Editor Adam McGill.” I did, however, start with a painful, painful joke: “Hi. I meant to brush up on my dental terminology so I wouldn’t be at a floss for words.” Groan if you must, but I made $27 from disbelieving coworkers who didn’t think I had the gumption to go through with it.
