Hattie

What The Owner Says: We adopted Hattie from Golden Retriever Rescue of North Texas soon after they rescued her (and three of her siblings) from a puppy mill in Kansas at just three months old. We will probably never know exactly what happened to Hattie before she came to Texas or how she was treated at such an early age, but we can tell you she was very afraid around humans. Lucky for Hattie, we had a 6-year-old female Lab (Bailey) for her to latch onto immediately, and that is exactly what she did! For the first few weeks of Hattie’s new life in our home, the only place she felt comfortable was underneath any one of our coffee tables (and snuggled up next to Bailey). It wasn’t long at all before Hattie and Bailey immediately became best of friends. Where Bailey went, Hattie went. We have seen Hattie develop into a normal, goofy, outgoing golden retriever going through all the awkward and hilarious things a normal young pooch does! She is the light of our life! She is a small golden, only weighing about 50 lbs. She is a little thing with a whole lot of personality. We love her and are so glad she now loves being in our home, and most importantly, feels safe in it.
