East & Orient not only offers the finest in 18th- and 19th-century French, English, and Continental antiques, it shows them off in elegant room settings fit for a king. But instead of royal attitude, you are greeted warmly and made to feel at home the second you enter through the ivy-covered courtyard.

Green thumbs on the hunt for azalea soil, a rare Japanese maple, and/or some urban chicken gear call North Haven their go-to. BEST STATIONERY STORE | Paper & Chocolate

Owner Vicki Petersen is knowledgeable, tasteful, and a stickler about etiquette—all things that come in handy when you’re choosing just the right invitation for your wedding day, birthday party, birth announcement, and everything in between. Even better, the shop has a host of options for thank-you notes, gifts, and—as the name attests—chocolates, too.

BEST GIFT SHOP | Grange Hall

When the editors of D Home recently interviewed some of Dallas’ most prominent art collectors, more than a few named Grange Hall as their favorite local place to shop. Little wonder. Though the store has an impressive array of cool coffee table books, letterpress note cards, and unusual floral arrangements, you can find stuff like that at lots of places. But try finding taxidermy, tripetal ceramic vases, and titanium flatware under the same roof anywhere else in town.

BEST MOVER | Curtis Specialized Moving & Storage

Once upon a time, the D Home team inherited some very cool—and very expensive—items. The good news? We loved those things. The bad news? The cool stuff was damaged during transit to photo shoots. Enter Curtis, a specialized mover that services local showrooms and residences alike. We haven’t had a problem since.

Finding the perfect Baltic quilted bedspread can be stressful. But the peaceful, elegant environment of Yves Delorme will put you at ease. Soothing music, beautiful chandeliers, an array of fluffy robes, and the aroma of bath products are sure to help you make the right commitment to a set.
