William-Christopher Design Sets Up Shop on Henderson Avenue

Interior design duo William “Ty” Burks and Christopher Ridolfi of William-Christopher Design had dreamed of opening a store since moving to Dallas 10 years ago. But as in many cases, life, business, and lack of just the right space got in the way. So when a charming spot—formerly Stacy Hyde—on Henderson Avenue opened up, the stars aligned, angels sang, and they signed on the dotted line. Their recently opened retail shop—also called William-Christopher Design—carries a number of gorgeous goodies such as antiques, furniture of their own design, and a wide range of home accessories and gifts, most of which come from Europe. “We try to find things with a more handmade, artistic quality to them,” Burks says. Think Indian-inspired linens by John Robshaw and royal family favorite True Grace candles from London. We especially love the pieces created by Burks and Ridolfi, all designed around antique items like Chinese tiles or carved hardware.

Living Well

We interrupt this trip along Henderson Avenue for a quick shout-out to Vintage Living, which just reopened in February after getting a little work done. Sure, everyone knows owner Lisa Luby Ryan’s politics are a bit right of center, but her aesthetic is normally as neutral as Switzerland. So imagine our delight when we walked in the newly unveiled space and noted all the color. Candy-colored lamps! Bright fabric on the chairs! Vivid paintings by Judy Hintz Cox hanging on the walls! It’s all tastefully done, of course, and don’t worry if you’re a purist—there’s still plenty of ivory, alabaster, cream, and oatmeal.
