SITTING PRETTY: Julie Lynn Interiors
nests in Snider Plaza.

NEW AND NOTEWORTHY:

Paul Garzotto protege Julie Rose recently opened her jewel of a shop, Julie Lynn Interiors (6715 Snider Plaza. 214-373-1313) in charming Snider Plaza. Rose’s new gallery specializes in unusual 19th- and 20th-century antiques and furnishings from around the world. We love her crazy-quilt mix of the old and new and eagerly await the new tableware line Rose promises will appear soon.

According to owner Brant Laird, all good furniture goes to Consignment Heaven (2901-03 N. Henderson Ave. 214-823-4103). Cute, no? That’s also the name of his new Knox-Henderson shop that bridges the gap between garage sale finds and the fine antiques he carries at his other store, Brant Laird Antiques. Brant stresses that he’s only looking for quality pieces. You have been warned.

Luscious satins and shimmery silks line the walls of The Silk Trading Co.’s new NorthPark store (1030 NorthPark Center. 214-261-1756). Textiles, draperies, paints, and home furnishings are the real deal here. Our knees went weak at the sight of a sinfully rich chocolate suede sofa. Somebody pass us the smelling salts. And our wallets.

The casual elegance of Hamptondale’s home furnishings – available to the public online (www.hamptondale.com) – is now available to the trade at its showroom in Allen (150 E. Bethany, Allen. 972-396-3800).

Premier Kitchens and Baths (8407 Pickwick Ln. 469-232-3330) is opening its new showroom in the Plaza at Preston Center on Nov 1. Though the showroom isn’t finished yet, the design firm is accepting clients. How industrious!

MOVING ON UP:

Circa Design Showroom – with its anything-from-classic-to-contemporary home furnishings collection – has relocated from the Inwood Outlet Center to its new posh Preston-Royal digs (10720 Preston Rd., Ste. 1009. 214-630-5185).

Michelle Nussbaumer has ditched her Industrial Boulevard digs for a larger space on Dragon Street. The bigger-but-couldn’t-possibly-be-better-because-it’s-already-so-good Ceylon et Cie (1319 Dragon St. 214-742-7632) is a dreamy space with circular windows, curved walls, and a stunning coral mural entryway. And who could forget Nussbaumer’s beautiful collection of 18th-, 19th-, and 20th-century antiques from Europe and Asia? We can’t.

Granite Mountain Stone Design has moved its showroom from Addison to the Design District (1616 B Hi Line Dr. 800-320-7083).

IBB Design has opened its new $2.9 million facility in Frisco (5798 Genesis Court, Frisco. 800-355-9195). The renowned design firm has been creating residential and commercial interiors for more than 25 years.
