I’ve always liked to think of Dallas as a well-mannered city that was raised right. A place where someone, when asked for directions, might stop what they’re doing to help, or a town where the words “please” and “thank you” are heard as often as “y’all.”

But today, thanks to Airbnb’s newly released list of the 10 Most Hospitable Cities in the U.S., we can at least rest assured knowing that Dallas has properly honed its hosting skills.  The list, based on Airbnb’s guest ratings and reviews, includes Texas cities Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin alongside Nashville, Portland, Charleston, and Asheville, North Carolina, which took the top spot.

Our local hosts are the real well-mannered heroes, of course. Glowing reviews are often a result of thoughtful touches, authentic interactions — all signs of true hospitality. “I think it’s just about creating a space where people can relax and feel like it’s theirs,” says a local Superhost named Amy, who has been renting out a guest house in the M Streets area for about four years. “My brother and I do the cleaning, and we make sure everything is spotless and ready to go. We do little folds on the toilet paper and leave them with clean, fluffy towels. It’s really cozy.”

See below for the full list, then scoop up these local finds to become a super host in your own right.

The top 10 most hospitable cities in the U.S. are:

  1. Asheville
  2. Portland
  3. St. Louis
  4. Nashville
  5. Phoenix
  6. Denver
  7. Austin
  8. Charleston
  9. Dallas
  10. San Antonio
