What We’re Making: Eco-Friendly White Kombucha Sangria

Raise a glass to your favorite globe.

Today we celebrate our dear earth, and all the ways our planet’s inhabitants can keep it clean and healthy. There will be many wonderful Earth Day happenings in Fair Park this weekend, which you can read all about here, but maybe you’re holding off on hitting the fair grounds until Saturday. Maybe you want to tip your hat to our planet from the comfort of your couch tonight. You should be able to do that!

In honor of Earth Day, we whipped up an eco-friendly cocktail (based off this lovely recipe we discovered on Pinterest) so we could raise a glass to our favorite globe, and feel good about doing so.

What You Need

  • 1 Bottle of Pizzolato Organic Pinot Grigio (Available at Whole Foods)
  • 2 14 Ounce Bottles of Kombucha (I used the remains of a jug of Buddha’s Brew Ginger Kombucha)
  • Raw Honey (I used Whole Foods Organic Mountain Forest Raw Honey, which is inexplicably not in this photo.)
  • 1/4 Cup of Pure Rum (I skipped this one because I’m a lightweight, but I’m sure I will regret this.)
  • Peeled Orange and Grapefruit Slices
  • Recyclable Susty Party Straws (These are available at Whole Foods. Once again, these are not pictured. This is something I clearly need to work on.)
Instructions: Stir all ingredients together and let them sit for at least three hours before enjoying.
