Meet the Instructor: Fit180’s Antonio Ramos

A U.S. Navy veteran shares how he trains his clients with a 360-degree approach.

Fit180‘s Antonio Ramos will have you laughing even while you’re on the treadmill—which, I might add, is not an easy feat. Gyms can be an intimidating place, but Antonio’s charismatic, approachable personality will put you at ease. His expertise shows through his creative and challenging routines. 

Ramos, who is working toward his doctor of chiropractic degree, has been involved in personal training and sports since high school, including serving in the U.S. Navy. Not only does he make burpees as enjoyable as they ever could be, but he also has a unique mind-body awareness to guide you through each move with proper form. To Ramos, getting fit isn’t just about a great workout routine; it’s about consistency, nutrition, and emotional health, and he helps his clients with it all. Get to know him.

How did you get to Fit180?

When I moved back from New York, I was looking for a gym in Dallas that put their clients first. I have always liked Fit180’s owner’s philosophy on helping people make a positive change in their lives. I joined the Fit180 team because we focus on helping our clients reach their goals in healthy ways by educating them to make healthy choices.  

Why is personal training important to you?

Having experienced firsthand the benefits of an individualized training program, it is important to me to offer the same experience and guidance to others. I find it rewarding when others become self-aware of the increase in strength, energy, balance, and flexibility that personal training provides. Watching someone reach their goals is as rewarding for me as it is for them, and it’s the reason why I do what I do.

What does wellness mean to you and why is it important?

I believe that one’s fitness level and nutrition contribute to one’s overall wellness, but, to me, wellness also means being healthy mentally and spiritually, too. If you have your mind, body, and soul in the right place, you are better able to adapt to the physical and emotional stressors that affect your everyday life.

What exercise do you love to hate?

My clients will get a kick out of this one: Lunges! Lunges are every person’s best friend—and enemy. Lunges are amazing for multiple areas of the body, and they add so much variety to a routine because of the freedom of motion.

What is your favorite healthy restaurant in Dallas?

Zoe’s Kitchen. I really like Greek food. I usually get a pita sandwich or a salad and always add on different types of meat for protein. 

What is your favorite outdoor activity?

Playing rugby, swimming, and paddle boarding.
